Join the Ladies of the Pasadena Casting Club at our CASTING LAB!
We’ll be casting from 8:00–10:00 AM every other Sunday and Thursday beginning on Sunday (10/25) and Thursday (10/29). Our coaches, Mike and Mario, will be there to mentor us at the Pasadena Casting Club Pond. They will teach us casting techniques with fun games. This week we will be playing “Dry Fly”!
Whether you’re an experienced angler, completely new to fly fishing, or simply looking to meet other women in the community, you’re invited to join us. No gear or casting experience is required—you’re also welcome to come hang out, learn, and enjoy the morning with us.
You can also bring your own gear if you would like to get comfortable with improving your casting skills with what you have. Equipment is available to use on-site.
Time: 8-10 AM
Location: PCC Pond
Gear: Bring your own casting gear. Equipment is available for use onsite.
Come learn, connect, and spend the morning with us!
Dry Fly Game Casting Sequence is not known until the day the game is held.
Basic Rules
The fly can be no less than ¾ inch in diameter and must not sink during the game. The caster has 8 minutes to complete the sequence 2 times. Through the entire game unlimited false casting is allowed between each target.
Scoring
The Caster starts with 100 points. If in both rounds the fly lands within the colored target, no points are deducted. If the fly lands between the colored ring and the outer ring, 1 point is deducted. If the fly lands outside both rings, 2 points are deducted. An additional point is deducted for every foot further away from the target that the fly lands, up to a total of 5 points. Other infractions can cause points to be deducted. The total penalty points subtracted from 100 becomes the caster’s score.
